Make your own Holly Wreath

Make your own Holly Wreath

Holly wreaths are fun to make and a chance to personalise your own front door.

Choose your size - pre made straw wreaths are a good place to start and come in a number of sizes.  Pick the foliage and holly you require from the garden.  Get to the holly with the berries before the birds do!

Tie some string around the wreath base and fasten.  Take small bunches of foliage and holly and work around the base, tying each bunch to the base with the string as you go.  Cover all the base and then tie off, leaving enough string to make a hanging loop. Now is the chance for some fun - decorate! If you have lots of berries you may prefer to keep as it is, or add bows and ribbons, baubles, cinnamon sticks, orange pieces, small toys, lights - whatever takes your fancy!  Decorations can be held on with string or with floristry wire.

Attach to your front door and wait for the admiring comments!  Over the door hangers are available if you cannot attach your wreath easily.

Keep your wreath looking fresh by spraying with water every few days and it will last until 12th night.

If making your own does not appeal, then we will be making furiously for the next few weeks - come and choose!  Or why not have an artificial wreath that you can decorate too.  Or get very adventurous and decorate your own swag or garland.

Wishing you a very happy Christmas!
