Greenhouse and Path Clearing

Time to get the greenhouse and paths ready for spring.  The good weather is on the way!  It is important to clean your greenhouse annually to remove any bugs or diseases that may have overwintered.  Removing algae, moss and grime will allow more light in.

Always empty the greenhouse completely of overwintered plants, pots and tools. It is important to wash the glass inside and out to remove all grime and pests, as well as any shading you put on in the heat of last summer.  Brush off the worst then wash down with disinfectant or detergent.  A floor mop will reach most places - including the tops of the roof.  Jeyes fluid could be used or any hot water household cleaner.

Clear gutters of leaves and muck.  Make sure waterbutts are clear.  It may need cleaning if it has become clogged.

Paths can be tidied now too.  Moss, algae and mud make paths slippery and unsightly.  Use a pressure washer if you can, or a hose and a stiff brush.  Pathclear is an efficient path cleaner after weeds have been removed. Patio Magic clears off algae and helps prevent it returning.

Once the greenhouse is clean, it is ready for the new seasons plantings!

Enjoy the garden!
