Keep the Birds Fed this winter

Winter can be hard on birds and our current weather most definitely isn't helping.  Cold  nights, frost, snow and blizzards make life hard, so help the birds with food in the garden.  Whilst birds can be fed all year round, it is especially important in the cold winter months.

Fat balls are good 'all round' food for wild birds.  Place them in feeders, hang them from trees, the house, or on bird tables.

Wild bird mix has a variety of seeds that will suit many birds, such as robins, sparrows and doves, while nyger seed is very good for smaller birds such as goldfinch.  There is a wide range of bird food available.

Make sure bird tables are kept clean and water changed regularly - especially if it freezes!

Squirrels can be a nuisance - they are hungry too!  Place food in squirrel-proof feeders to stop them stealing.

Enjoy the wildlife in your garden - from the warm!!
