This is a cast iron product and by the forces of nature will have suffered the effects of oxidisation on the surface. It will continue to do so making an arguably more characterful (aged, shabby chic) ornament.

To remove the rust, brush off with a wire brush and either paint with anti-oxidising paint which is available at most paint stores or use a metal scourer and rub with oil.

Please be aware, these are heavy items and will require a two man lift.
