Your Tip:
A great way to remove leaves is to pull your mower lever to high and mow'em
down. It mulches them at the same time saving space. Be wary of attacking
large piles and overfilling the bag.

Your Tip:
Now is a great time to de-thatch your lawn. Use a scarifier or a lawn /
grass rake - and then run over it with the mower you won't believe how much
thatch and bits come out. Your lawn will look a right mess but will recover
and thrive in a couple of weeks.

Your Tip:
Heres a way to make a potato planter and help the environment too. Get 5 old
car tyres. put 3 seeds in the bottom of the first. When spuds shoots, add
another tyre and fill with soil / compost. Do same again for next few tyres.
You'll end up with a mass of spuds and it's a great way to re use old tyres.
So easy!

Your Tip:
f you have troublesome moss, apray a mixture of slightly diluted bleach to
remove it. You might need to do a bit of trial and error on this one, but it
will kill the moss and not harm the other plants over time. However, don't
use bleach on any plant you cherish.

Your Tip:
Bindweed:
Save plastic bottles - cut the bottom off, and place over the bindweed as it emerges so that it grows up within the bottle. Once it has a healthy load of leaves zap them carefully with Roundup. That will get to the roots and kill it off, and the bottle protects any plant or shrub adjacent to it. I have cleared my vegetable patch of bindweed and am now working on the soft fruit areas. Thanks.

Your Tip:
Watering orchids. Not being a pro a chap at the garden centre pointed out a great tip. Fill a bucket with luke warm water and lower the orchid / house plant into it until filled with water. Then pull upwards, leaving the water to drain. It seems to gather the perfect amount of water and is quick and easy. Many thanks. Lovely idea.

Your Tip:
My pond normally goes murky when the sun comes in the Spring due to the algae growing.
TIP: A simple way to help prevent this is to drop a string bag of barley straw into the pond. As it begins to breakdown, it will use up the excess nutrients, reducing the amount of algae and also blanket weed. Plus if you plant water plants, these will shade the water and use up the nutrients which help create the algae.

Your Tip:
Leaf Mould : I collect all the fallen leaves during the winter and spring and stuff them into black bin liners add a little water and prick holes with my fork. All I do then is to pile them behind the shed and forget about them until next year. After then the result is really good leaf mould compost which I dig into the flower beds.
